The trailer for Don Coscarelli’s (Bubba Ho-Tep) John Dies at the End has been released and it’s pretty much what you expected from the writer/director. It just looks completely out there and weird. That’s actually a good thing coming from this man. If you have seen Bubba Ho-Tep and Phantasm, you know what I’m talking about. The movie is being adapted from David Wong’s novel, and from what I understand about the book, this seems like a perfect marriage of material and filmmaker. There’s definitely a lot in that trailer that will turn off a number of people, but I have no doubt this film will find a cult following. Synopsis and trailer below!

John Dies at the End stars Paul Giamatti, Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Clancy Brown, and Doug Jones. It’s set to be released December 28th on demand and January 25th in theaters.

Synopsis for John Dies at the End:

It’s a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t.
